What Can
I Do With My Cremation Urn?
Cremation
urns can be placed in a columbarium niche, sealed inside a mausoleum crypt,
buried in a cemetery, or kept in a special place at home. Some families choose
to scatter the ashes and retain the urn as a keepsake or memorial for display
in their home or garden.
Can
Personal Items Be Placed Inside the Urn?
Yes, this is
entirely a personal decision. Some families choose to include meaningful items
such as photographs, notes, or a lock of hair along with the ashes. Others
scatter the ashes and keep these items inside the urn instead. If you plan to
add extra items, make sure the urn has enough capacity.
How Do
Cremation Urns Open?
Urn openings
vary by design. Most cremation urns feature a threaded screw-top lid, while
others may open from the bottom or back. Pet urns commonly use bottom openings
for added security.
Should
the Urn Be Sealed?
In most
cases, sealing is not required. Many brass urns come with threaded lids that
close securely. However, if you prefer extra protection, you may use a suitable
sealant available from local hardware or DIY stores.
Can a
Non-Pet Urn Be Used for a Pet's Ashes?
Yes. There
is no functional difference between human and pet urns. You are free to choose
any design that feels right, regardless of how the urn is categorized.
